Dear Bushwackers Alumni and Friends:
Due to your support in 2012, the Bushwackers are alive and thriving. Your generosity in our Equipment Drive last spring and Emergency Drive last fall has kept the us poised for a great 2013 season. As with all drum corps, our financial needs depend on the money we bring in from competitions, parades & tution, but we always need the help of our alumni and friends.
The Bushwackers need to replace our 10 year old uniforms. The need to replace our uniforms is due to normal wear and tear, but also the limited amount of decent jackets and pants. Our budget did not permit it last year, but this year a unique opportunity has presented itself.
We are in a position to purchase three year old uniforms from the Bluecoats. These uniforms are professionally made by Stanbury and include jackets and pants for 160 members. We budgeted $12,000 to have new uniforms made for 70 members for 2013, but we can purchase twice that number of Bluecoats uniforms for about the same amount. Once purchased, we will “Bushwackerize” the jackets to make sure we keep the look and feel of the Bushwackers.
WE NEED YOUR HELP. We’ve been able to make an arrangement with the Bluecoats to hold the uniforms for us till April 15th at which time we must make full payment otherwise they will be sold to another buyer. We need to raise $10,000 by April 15th to take advantage of this great opportunity to provide a world-class uniform for the next generation of Bushwackers.
