Jason Keller brings a wealth of Drum Corps experience to the Bushwackers, most recently working as the Bass Technician for the Madison Scouts for 2012 – 2013. He began his Drum Corps career in 2008 with the Jersey Surf Drum & Bugle Corps, then continued his marching career with the Blue Stars in 2009 – 2010, where he aged out. In 2010 – 2011, Jason marched with United Percussion, where he aged out as the Bass Section Leader. In the fall of 2009 and 2010, Jason was a member of the University of Delaware’s Fightin’ Blue Hens Marching Band. After an intermission from marching, Jason took the opportunity to march with The Bushwackers in the final few weeks of the 2013 Season.


Jason has also worked with several high school programs throughout Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania in various positions. He’s worked with the independent indoor programs Imperial Dynasty and Musicopia’s ID APhillyated. Jason is currently the Percussion Caption Head of Cab Calloway School of the Arts where he has helped them receive their second consecutive High Percussion Award in TOBs Atlantic Coast Championships.

Throughout his career, Jason has worked closely with some of the best educators in the activity, including Tom Aungst, Lee Beddis, Jim Ancona, Chad Wyman, James Sparling, Chris Watson, Ryan Anderson, Derek Fields, Jeff Brooks, and Mike Dow; all of whom must be acknowledged for their role in making Jason the percussionist, performer, and educator that he is today.

Jason recently graduated from Delaware Technical Community College, receiving his Associate’s degree in Architectural Engineering. He is currently is working to expand his recently started company, J.K. Percussion & Arts, which focuses on assisting the growth of young percussionists and the Marching Arts programs in Delaware and surrounding areas.

Jason is excited for the opportunity to work with the Bushwackers for the 2014 season, to help the percussion program create a new identity while continuing the tradition of excellence that Bush is historically known for.
