The Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Gupta and Jay Morlot as Co-Executive Directors for the coming season.
Bob Gupta has been in the Director and Executive Director roles for the past 5 years with the Bushwackers. In addition to driving the vision and growth of the drum corps, he will continue managing the administration, business, and infrastructure of the corps as we enter our 35th anniversary season.
Jay Morlot was the Director of the Bushwackers for the 23 years prior to Gupta’s term. He will utilize his experience and extended network to enhance and expand the drum corps personnel, providing the highest level of programming and education, while ensuring continuity in the membership experience.
“The board’s mission is to continue to grow the drum corps in every way possible,” says Bushwackers Board Chairman, John Hannigan. “Combining Bob Gupta’s business management skills and Jay Morlot’s personnel skills is the perfect collaboration we were looking for.”
The Bushwackers would also like to express our thanks and gratitude to Corps Director Bob Glover who has resigned from the drum corps due to personal reasons. We would like to thank Glover for his incredible commitment and service for the past two years with the Bushwackers, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. A search for his replacement will begin immediately.
While we search for the permanent director, Harlan Landes will take on the role of Interim Corps Director. Landes was the Operations Manager for the Bushwackers last year and is slated to become the Business Manager, so he already understands the logistical and financial needs of the drum corps. He will manage all the responsibilities of the Corps Director during this transitional time period.
If you are interested in applying for the open Corps Director position, please send your resume to director@bushwackers.org.
