The Bushwackers are excited to announce that we are opening a search and audition process for head and assistant drum majors for our 35th anniversary season. All current members as well as anyone interested in continuing the legacy of excellence and leadership in the position of drum major should apply.
Previous Bushwackers drum majors have been recognized as the best throughout DCA, and this is a tradition the corps plans to continue.
All drum major candidates need to complete our online registration form and to register for open house. Once we have received your registration information, you will be allowed to audition for the drum major positions.
The audition process begins at our Open House on Sunday, November 22. Please be prepared to participate in another section of the corps (brass, percussion, or color guard). For a portion of the day, staff and drum major alumni will meet with drum major candidates and discuss expectations for the position.
Auditions will continue our December rehearsal camp on December 12 and 13. You will have the opportunity to conduct and exhibit your leadership skills and attitude.
Join the Bushwackers Drum Major Auditions Facebook Group and the 2016 Bushwackers Interest Facebook Group to stay in contact with staff, administration, and other corps members.
Drum majors are expected to attend every rehearsal and performance from the winter through the end of the summer unless there is an emergency or a pre-authorized curricular performance that prevents attendance.
The Bushwackers will be looking for candidates with conducting and leadership experience.
