Joe began his marching career with the University of Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens Marching Band, playing snare drum from 2009-2013. During that time, he also played snare drum with the Reading Buccaneers, of Reading, PA in 2010 and 2011. Continuing his pursuit in the drum corps activity, Joe went on to march snare drum in the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, during the 2012 and 2013 summers. In 2013, the Cadets drumline was awarded the Fred Sanford Award for High Percussion Performance.
Joe also has experience at each level of the indoor drumline activity, competing in world class in 2011 as a member of United Percussion’s snareline, in A class in 2013 as section leader of Imperial Dynasty, in open class in 2014 as section leader of Cadets Winter Percussion’s inaugural season, and in 2015 spending part of a season in novice class before being promoted to intermediate A as a part time battery technician with Appoquinimink high school.
Since aging out, Joe has continued his involvement with the marching arts, teaching the University of Delaware snareline for the past two years, 2014 and 2015.
