The Bushwackers are heartbroken to say goodbye to one of our dearest friends, Hall of Fame Member Brian Law.
After beginning his Drum Corps career with the Keystone Regiment, the Crossmen, and the Bridgemen, Brian joined the Bushwackers in 1991 and began to compile a long list of titles. Baritone player, visual tech, brass tech, drum major, drill writer, truck driver, equipment manager, administrator and vice president of the corps.
Always with a smile and a positive attitude, Brian made being a Bushwacker easy for those around him. He could march a season, or teach a season, or jump in the hornline whenever needed. To him it did not matter. What mattered was the Bushwackers.
His impact on the many young members he inspired as an educator in Drum corps, Winter Programs and Marching Band has left its mark on the activity. Welcoming, supportive and helpful, he was always positive, and always happy to do whatever was needed. On staff, Brian made you want to be better; on the field, he led by example.
An outstanding baritone player, Brian excelled in I&E competition, and he was adept at playing in the line with the low brass. Having Brian in the baritone line, you knew that line would be exceptional.
Just as Brian was always there to help his Drum Corps family, now would be the time for us to help his. If possible, please make a donation to their GoFundMe to help with expenses.
Godspeed, Brian, we’ll meet you in the lot after the last show.
