Bonnie Harper, originally from Eagle, Idaho, is currently an elementary music teacher in Bellingham, Massachusetts, teaching general music grades K-4 and fourth-grade chorus. She received her bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Flute Performance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During her last two years at UMass, Ms. Harper was a drum major for the UMass Minuteman Marching Band and worked closely with George N. Parks and Thom Hannum. She completed her instrumental student teaching at Bellingham High School and her elementary student teaching in the Northampton Public Schools.
Ms. Harper is currently the drum major for the Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps. She is also a staff member for the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy. In addition to her musical career and activities, Ms. Harper serves as a state public affairs journalist in the Massachusetts Air National Guard.
