Minesh A. Shah has been teaching and consulting Drum & Bugle Corps, as well as Marching, Concert, and Jazz Bands for the majority of his adult life. He has worked with award winning DCI and DCA corps such as the Reading Buccaneers, The Cadets and The Cadets2 during their inaugural season. He is an active clinician and adjudicator for USBands as well as other independent circuits.
His love of music inspired him to receive a Bachelors Degree in Music with a concentration in Trombone Performance from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. There, he had the fine privilege of being Mr. Willis Traphagan’s final Trombone student. With “Trap”, he studied not only Trombone, but also Brass Pedagogy.
Minesh continued his education in the field of music and received a Graduate Assistantship at Montclair State University where he studied Trombone with Robert Wigness, James Markey and Tony Mazzocchi. At MSU, he served as a visiting specialist in Brass Pedagogy where he taught undergrads how to teach brass instruments. Minesh has coached many chamber ensembles and coordinated conferences such as the CBDNA Conference.
In addition to joining the Bushwackers staff, Minesh is the Choir Director at Elizabeth High School – Upper and Lower Academy and a respected staff member with the Elizabeth HS Marching Band. Minesh lives in Lake Hopatcong with his wife Kara, their two cats Peanut and Bailey and their beautiful puppy Davross.
