The 2015 Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps is proud to present:
London 1890. The dawn of a new era in society and technology. New inventions, new methods, and new ideas sparked what became one of the most pivotal moments in the history of the human race: The Industrial Revolution.
The invention of steam power, mass production, fabricating stronger metals, and exploring new methods of propulsion drove this period as modern technology took shape. The result: modern society and the relentless re-inventing of ourselves.
Join the Bushwackers as we take a journey back in time and pay tribute to the achievements of so many great minds, great machines, and great hands. The program will start off with the transformation of the football field into a factory floor. We will then move into the exploration of the inner-workings of a steam-powered factory, complete with fast moving parts and the intensity of mass production. The visual design then takes you on a wild ride while discovering different methods in construction and propulsion. The powerful ending pays homage to the factory inventors and workers whose sweat, blood, and tears literally changed the world with their bare hands.
Musical selections include “Industrial (r)Evolution”, “The Factory”, and “Wild Ride”, all original music by Robert W. Smith and Ralph Hardimon, combined next with “Tempered Steel” by Charles Young, and then an emotionally charged finale featuring “Enigma Variations: Nimrod” by Edward Elgar.
Strap in and enjoy the ride this summer as the 2015 Bushwackers Drum Corps bring to life “Industrial (r)Evolution” in a stadium near you!
