After spending her first year with the Bushwackers pit, Genny marched 12 consecutive years in the bass line, a Bushwacker percussion record.
In a heavily male dominated activity, Genny carried the 32 inch “Thunder” Bass for the corps, not many women in DCA can put that on their resume.
She was a great member, always making new members feel at home and welcome in the Bushwackers. She would make sure new members would have lunch or dinner, often sharing her food with them, and make sure they had a place to stay overnight.
On more than a few occasions, young girls would come up to her after a show and told Genny she was an inspiration to them.
