June married Dennis Argul during his tenure as Bush’s Show Coordinator/Brass Arranger and Brass Caption head. During this time, June was a primary part of the corps support team. Her daughter Sarah describes her Mom’s dedication best:
Attempting to describe the decade of selfless service my mom gave to the Bushwackers is impossible, because there is so much she did. Friday nights through Sunday afternoons, she took care of 4 children on her own. As we got older, we started going to rehearsals at Tri-Chem in Harrison. Our cooler and car were always packed for a weekend of fun, with extra food for anyone who was without. She helped during rehearsals while my sisters and I played and learned to ride our bikes.
For countless summers our apartment was full of members who were always welcome, fed, and given a place to sleep no matter when. There would be nights where fabric and patterns were sprawled all over the apartment while my mom was helping volunteers and staff sew uniforms for the entire corps. In 2002 she jumped in when the color guard staff quit.
A decade of driving her children and members to and from shows, supporting Dennis, and supporting the whole corps without expecting anything in return makes her more than deserving of this recognition.
It is with great pride we welcome June Argul into the Bushwacker Hall of Fame.
