Born and raised in Spokane, Washington Alex Hancock is an active member in the marching community designing and teaching marching ensembles in the Northwest.

His marching career began in high school marching Trumpet and later Mellophone with the award winning Mead High School Marching Band. During this time he also involved himself in Drum Corps marching with the Seattle Cascades in ’05 (on trumpet) and ’06 (on mellophone). After High School Alex marched mellophone with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps from 08’-10’ winning two DCI World Championships and receiving the Director’s Award for outstanding performance on and off the field in his final year.

Since graduating high school and entering college, Alex has designed and taught many high schools in the Northwest including; Westview High School, Aloha High School, and Centennial High School in Portland, OR. He also is currently the Assistant Director of the Marching Band, Visual Designer, and Visual Caption Head for The Lewis and Clark High School Marching Band in Spokane, WA.

Alex is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Clarinet Performance and Music Education from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA. At Whitworth he is involved in the top instrumental and vocal ensembles. In his free time Alex enjoys running and keeping fit, cooking and eating, and is a die-hard hockey and soccer fan.
