Alessandro Sestito is very excited to be returning to the Bushwackers, moving into the role of Battery Manager.

Alessandro is a percussion educator based out of central Jersey. Since 2015, he has been a battery technician for the Old Bridge High School, most recently receiving the Percussion Scholastic Open Silver Medal and Fan Favorite award at the 2018 WGI World Championships. Alessandro has been the snare technician for the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps since 2018. Alessandro’s marching career started with Old Bridge High School where he performed with the marching band and indoor percussion program from 2010 to 2014. During his time in high school, Old Bridge has received numerous percussion titles and placed in WGI scholastic finals every year.

Alessandro’s drum corps experience started with the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps where he played snare drum in 2013 and 2014. After graduating high school, he continued on with the indoor percussion activity and joined Cadets Winter Percussion (CWP) where he marched in 2015 and 2016. Meanwhile, Alessandro then joined the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 2015 and returned for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, where he was section leader in 2017.  He is also a performer at Blue Devils Entertainment, playing snare drum for the NY Giants Drumline. Alessandro received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology and is working as an Engineer in Old Bridge, New Jersey.

Jesse

Jesse Valencia is very excited to be joining the Bushwackers as the Front Ensemble Coordinator.

Jesse’s marching experience started with Cadets2 in 2014 and continued on to march the Cadets in 2016 and 2017. Jesse has also been heavily involved in the Percussion Independent World scene in WGI, having marched with Cadets Winter Percussion in 2015 and 2016 and with United Percussion in 2018, all PIW finalist groups. 

As an educator, Jesse has proven an accomplished arranger as the Caption Head and Arranger at both Downingtown East High School outdoor program and the Downingtown Area School District indoor percussion program ever since 2017. Jesse also taught Cadest2 in 2017 and 2018 and is currently teaching United Percussion 2’s Front Ensemble in the 2020 season.

Alex Musliner is excited to be returning to the Bushwackers as a Percussion Caonsultant.

Originally from Crofton MD, Alex’s marching percussion experience started with Cadets2 and continued on to Cadets Winter Percussion and Carolina Crown, learning from world class educators in the activity such as Tom Aungst, Rich Hammond, and Thom Hannum. Alex started his educational career in the marching arts with Imperial Dynasty and the Bushwackers as the snare technician for both of their 2017 seasons. Alex has also been heavily involved in the WGI PIW scene since 2018, serving as the Battery Manager for George Mason University Indoor Drumline. Alex graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in Computer Engineering in 2015 and is currently working as a team lead developer at a website provider since 2015.

Kevin is very excited to be returning to the Bushwackers as a bass technician.

Originally from Glenside, PA, Kevin first began watching marching band and indoor drumline shows around 1999. His first marching experience came as a tuba player with the Abington High School Marching Ghosts in the fall of 2002. Kevin’s first indoor season was the winter/spring of 2003, under the direction of Mr. Tony Perez, as a member of the front ensemble. Kevin has been involved in the percussion scene ever since, marching with Jersey Surf Drum & Bugle Corps and United Percussion as a WGI Open Class Gold Medalist.

Kevin has taught with Abington High School, Boyertown High School, and Imperial Dynasty Art in various marching percussion technician roles, striving to bring out the highest level of excellence from his students of all age ranges. In addition, Kevin has also held the role of Director of Marching Percussion at Upper Dublin High School from 2010-2013 and is the Director of Marching Percussion at Cheltenham High School currently. Kevin has also been a member of the Vic Firth Educational Team since 2017. Professionally, Kevin has been working for a company installing chemical storage tanks, pipes, valves, and pumps since 2015.

Jon Corbi is excited to return to the Bushwackers as the Battery Visual Technician.

Jon has been in the marching activity since 2014, when he started his rookie season with The Cadets2 Drum and Bugle Corp. From then on, Jon has had the pleasure to perform with many professional ensembles, including Cadets Winter Percussion, Fusion Core, Imperial Dynasty Indoor Percussion, as well as West Chester University’s Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band. While being a member of these ensembles, Jon instructed at many schools around the Southern Pennsylvania and New Jersey area. He first joined the Bushwacker team in 2019 as the cymbal technician, and joined the Imperial Dynasty team for their 2020 season as snare technician.

Outside of the activity, Jon graduated in 2019 with an Elementary Education degree from West Chester University, and a Minor in Special Education. He currently teaches at various elementary schools around Milford, Delaware.

Garrett is very excited to be joining the Bushwackers as a front ensemble technician.

He has experience marching drum corps starting in 2016 with Cadets2 in their first ever championship year.  Garrett then went on to march Carolina Crown for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.  He also marched with WGI finalist, United Percussion, in their 2018 season. With this experience, he went on to teach the front ensemble  at United Percussion 2 for their inaugural season in 2019.  Afterwards, he went on to march The Cadets for the 2019 season and is now aging out with the current WGI Independent World Class Champion, Broken City Percussion, for the 2020 season.  Garrett is also very happy to be joining the staff at The Cadets for the 2020 drum corps season. 

While Garrett is currently finishing his Bachelors degree in Music Performance from Rowan University; he is also composing and teaching for many different marching bands and indoor percussion groups within the South Jersey area.  Garrett is thrilled to have this opportunity and can’t wait for the season to start!

Sal is excited to be back with the Bushwackers for his second years as sound designer and front ensemble technician.

Sal has performed with West Chester’s Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra, and marching band. His marching experience includes performing with The Buccaneers (’15-’16), The Cadets (’17-’18), and United Percussion (’20, ’22) as a front ensemble member. He has taught front ensembles for many years, most notably at Downingtown High School East, Downingtown Indoor Percussion, and Shippensburg University. Sal Azzara studied Music Education at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and is an active marching arts educator based in the Southeast PA region.
