Evan Young graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University with his bachelor’s of music education in May of 2011. Currently, he is a general and instrumental music teacher at Marlboro Memorial Middle School in Morganville, NJ. Evan also has the pleasure of being a regular guest clinician at various middle schools and high schools across NJ. In conjunction with teaching, Evan leads a private studio and a highly active performance career as a freelance French Horn and Trumpet player in the NY/NJ area. He frequently performs with various ensembles including The Sinfonietta Nova, One World Symphony in Brooklyn, NY and 4th Horn in the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra, which is celebrating its 65th season.

Evan started his marching music career with the South Brunswick High School Viking Marching Band in 2004, marching Mellophone. Upon graduation from South Brunswick in 2007, Evan was immediately hired to the instructional staff with the Viking Band. Since 2009, Evan has been on staff with the Piscataway High School Superchief Marching Band as the Mellophone instructor as well as a lead brass instructor.

In 2012, Evan had the honor of marching in the inaugural season with Cadets 2 Drum and Bugle Corps as the Mellophone section leader, as well as being the recipient of the first ever ‘Cadet 2 of the Year’ award. Evan is very excited to be joining the 2014 instructional staff at Bushwackers as the Mellophone instructor. Evan currently resides in South Brunswick, NJ.
