Mike Dow resides in Philadelphia, PA working as an IT professional as well as teaching, designing, consulting, and adjudicating for the marching arts in the area.
Mike started his performing career at age 16 playing bass drum with the Crossmen. He marched there from 2001-2004 and then went on to age out with the Madison Scouts in 2006. In 2004 & 2005, he also performed in the WGI percussion ensemble, United Percussion. During that time, Mike was attending Rutgers University and marched with the Scarlet Knight Marching Band (2002-2004).
In 2007, Mike graduated from Rutgers with a degree in Computer Science. Mike went on to join the percussion staff at the Troopers Drum Corps from 2007-2009, Carolina Crown from 2010-2011 and the Madison Scouts from 2012-2014. Mike also began teaching at United Percussion in 2006, helping to lead them to an Open Class Championship and then to be World Class Finalists. He took the role of Staff Coordinator for United from 2011-2013. Mike recently has been with Upper Darby High School’s marching band and indoor percussion as the Visual Caption Head & Designer, helping the WGI group advance to World Class in 2014.
