Lauryn Heller Griffin is excited to begin her 11th season with The Bushwackers. With roots in the marching arts from a young age, inspired by her mother, she spent 13 years learning and performing with the Haddon Heights marching programs. Lauryn has also performed with The Light Brigade, Alter Ego, The Black Watch, and The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps.
As a creator and instructor, Lauryn has worked with organizations including The Cadets, Haddon Heights HS, The Black Watch, Blue Knights, United Percussion, Bridgewater-Raritan HS, The Bluecoats, and The Bushwackers. Outside of the activity, she is an elementary special education teacher in South Jersey and enjoys time with her husband, Eddie, and their two dogs, Henry and Murphy
Jim is entering his 32nd season with the Bushwackers. Currently as Executive Director since 2020, he has held many roles with the organization throughout the years including marching snare, drum major, co-show coordinator, program coordinator, percussion caption head. Jim has played an important role in the growth and success of the corps while helping mentor and develop generations of staff and performers.
Jim was inducted in the Bushwacker Hall of Fame in 2010, World Drum Corps Hall of Fame in 2022, and New Jersey Drum Corps Hall of Fame in 2026.
Involved in drum corps practically all his life, Jim started at the age of six when his dad taught him to play the drums. He went on to play snare with Bayonne Bridgemen winning two DCI drum trophies his last two years.
Jim was the snare tech and battery coordinator for Bluecoats and is proud to have been a part of their first finals appearance.
Jim has taught many high school bands over the years in New Jersey and Connecticut.
He is currently an adjudicator for USBands, NJMBDA and NESBA.
With a BS from Central Connecticut State University, Jim is now a retired accountant where he lives in Milford, Connecticut with his wife Janet, his drum corps sweetheart from their high school days.
Andrew Monteiro is a Music Educator, Composer and Arranger based in Philadelphia.
He began his drum corps career in 2009 with the Blue Stars, performing with The Cadets Front Ensemble in 2010 and 2011. Since the establishment of Cadets2 in 2012, Andrew served as Front Ensemble Caption Supervisor, later becoming Arranger and Sound Designer from 2016–2018. He was on staff with The Cadets Front Ensemble from 2014–2017, and also held the role of Arranger/Sound Designer for the Bushwackers (2015–2018) and the Reading Buccaneers (2022–2023). From 2019–2022, he was Co-Arranger and Sound Designer for Carolina Crown, and in 2023 served as Arranger/Sound Designer for The Cadets in what would be the corps’ final season. He is currently the Front Ensemble Arranger and Designer for the Colts in 2026 and serving as the Music Coordinator for The Bushwackers since last year.
In the indoor percussion activity, Andrew writes and designs custom shows for high schools nationwide, including PIO Finalist Norwalk High School since 2021. He was the Front Ensemble Arranger, Coordinator, and Sound Designer for Cadets Winter Percussion (PIW) from 2014–2016, leading them to a first-place finish in Independent Open in their inaugural year. Andrew was Sound Designer for United Percussion (PIW) in 2017 and 2018, and since 2019 has been the Sound Designer and Arranger for PIW Finalist George Mason University Indoor Drumline.
Tony Rideout (he/him/his) is the Co-Director and designer for the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as a designer for Norwalk (CT) Scholastic Open Indoor Percussion. A performer with the Reading Buccaneers and The Cadets of Bergen County, Tony has served on instructional and design staffs for Carolina Crown, Crossmen, Boston Crusaders, Jersey Surf, Hawthorne Caballeros, and Cadets2. Outside of the pageantry marching arts, Tony is a Music Education Lecturer, University Supervisor for Pre Service Music Teachers, and Doctor of Musical Arts Candidate at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey researching, publishing and presenting on equity-based frameworks, including queer theory, in music education.
Jamey is excited to return to Bushwackers for a fourth season as Visual Designer.
Previous DCA/DCI All-Age experience includes Connecticut Hurricanes and The Empire Statesmen. Jamey has designed for high school and university marching bands throughout the United States for over thirty years. He also designed for DCI World Class drum corps: Phantom Regiment, Madison Scouts and Glassmen. Jamey graduated with a BBA from Loyola University Chicago and worked in not-for-profit accounting and arts management before dedicating his time exclusively to the marching arts.
Jaycee Wilson grew up in the marching arts in Clovis, CA and currently resides in Salt Lake City, UT.
As a performer, Jaycee performed with the Blue Devils, Imbue Winterguard and Rhapsody Independent. Jaycee is currently the Color Guard Caption Head at Bluecoats, Creative Director for color guard at American Fork HS, and designer for Clovis North HS.
He has most recently worked with Vox Artium World, Blue Knights, Imbue Winterguard, Wasatch Independent, and many programs throughout the country during the fall and winter seasons.
Zack Travis is a drill designer and music arranger. He takes great pride in his work and is most known for his creativity, professionalism, timeliness, and pedagogical approach. Before committing to marching band design full time, Zack was a band director at John Horn HS, McCallum HS, and Glenn HS. During his time teaching he elevated each ensemble including leading John Horn HS to their 1st State Marching Contest Performance and leading McCallum HS to their 1st State Finals Performance.
Zack Travis is an alumni of the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps marching from 2010-2013 where he has earned a DCI World Championship and served as drum major. He has also served on staff with The Cadets 2, The Reading Buccaneers, The Cadets and The Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps where he continued to mentor aspiring musicians. Zack currently serves as the brass arranger for The Bushwackers Drum and Bugle corps. Zack studied Music Education and Performance at West Chester University. He now resides in Texas and works with his wife Jolene Travis. Together they own and operate Marching With Travis. In his free time Zack likes to travel, hike, and spend time with Jolene and their dogs Puff and Grover.
Dave Dumont began his drum corps career at age 15, marching with the Connecticut Hurricanes, Hawthorne Caballeros, and Syracuse Brigadiers from 2002 to 2005. He also performed with the WGI PIW ensemble Project Percussion in 2005, marched with the Crossmen in 2006, and aged out with The Cadets in 2007, earning a silver medal. Throughout his marching career, he performed exclusively on snare drum.
Since 2010, Dave has served as Percussion Director at Norwalk High School in Connecticut. Throughout his educational career, his ensembles have earned seven PSO medals, including two with Trumbull High School (2005-2009) and five with Norwalk High School, along with frequent appearances in WGI Finals competition.
In addition to his work at Norwalk High School, Dave has arranged, consulted, and instructed for numerous programs throughout Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania. His teaching and consulting experience includes the Hawthorne Caballeros, Connecticut Hurricanes, Fusion Core, CWP, The Cadets, and Cadets².
Dave served as Percussion Director for Cadets² from the organization’s inception in 2012 through 2018. During his tenure, the corps captured the High Percussion Award and the Overall Championship in 2016.
He is currently a member of the percussion staff for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps.
A USBands percussion judge since 2012, Dave was appointed Percussion Judge Coordinator for the Musical Arts Conference in 2023.
Mike resides from Williamstown, New Jersey and is very excited to be entering his 6th year on staff with the Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps. After spending time as both Battery Coordinator and Percussion Caption Head, Mike excited to be entering his new role as Ensemble Coordinator and Co-Battery Arrange for the 2026 season.
As a performer, Mike began his marching career at Williamstown High School in 2010 and continued his passion for the next 10 years, performing for many ensembles during that time. This includes Fusion “Core” (DCA) 2015-2017, Imperial Dynasty (WGI PIO) 2017-2018, Spirit of Atlanta (DCI) 2018-2019, and United Percussion (WGI PIW) 2019-2020.
Once completing his time as a performer, Mike has had the pleasure of teaching a number of groups in the tri-state area. This includes Kingsway Regional High School, Cab Calloway School of the Arts, and United Percussion. Currently, Mike is serving his third season with Imperial Dynasty as Battery Caption Head and Arranger.
Garrett Davis is a percussionist, educator, and arranger based in Philadelphia, PA. He holds a Master of Music from Temple University and a Bachelor of Music from Rowan University. Garrett currently serves as the Drumlines and MSO Manager for Musicopia, overseeing drumline and orchestra programming throughout Philadelphia. His experience includes Carolina Crown, The Cadets, United Percussion, Broken City Percussion, and the Rowan University Marching Band. He has arranged and designed for marching bands and indoor percussion ensembles throughout the region, and has performed nationally with the Broadway National Tour of The Music Man. Garrett is very excited for a new chapter with Bushwackers and its amazing team!
