It was a long holiday weekend for the Bushwackers, but an exciting one. Thursday’s Independence Day parades marked the debut of our new uniforms! While there are still a few additions planned, everyone is excited about the new look.

The Corps kept the momentum going with near-perfect attendance on Friday night. After a few hours of sectionals, it was off to get some rest before the early morning wake-up.Following a longer-than-planned bus ride to Lewisburg, PA, the members were in high gear, splitting up to line fields, unload trucks, assemble props, etc., working quickly to make up for lost time.
Despite the delays, the Corps worked efficiently, and were able to smooth some rough patches and add some enhancements going into the first full performance of the 2013 Program.
With the new uniforms for Drum Majors, Corps Proper, and Color Guard, and their 10 foot props in tow, the Bushwackers made quite the impression as they took the field. In their first full show, the corps jumped just over 7 points since the Wildwood “preview,” scoring a 70.1. Last Season, we didn’t break 70 until mid-August!
The Corps has been working hard, and it showed Saturday night. They continued that hard work and are planning on even better results next weekend, July 13, at Music Under the Stars in Hornell, New York.
We could still use some Volunteers for the Hornell show. If you are interested in lending a hand, contact us.
Following the next show, we have 5 rehearsals until the Downingtown Classic. It’s the perfect time to join us for our 2013 Program.
